What Is WordPress Ping?
According to Wikipedia, Ping in blogging is an XML-RPC-based push mechanism by which blog notifies a server that its content has been updated.
When you write a new post, edit your old post or modify your existing post, WordPress sends a ping to all the ping services which you have added in your ping update service.
Then ping service notifies Google and other search engines about the new post you published or modification in your existing one. Search engines send the bots to crawl your content and index it.
WordPress uses Ping-O-Matic’s (rpc.pingomatic.com) for this task but you can add your ping list to ping more services manually.
I will also share my ping list which I am using on my blog and you can also use this for yours.

Ravi,
Can you specify a specific no. of ping websites we should use? like 10, 20 or 100. Is it white hat seo?
Yes, It is absolutely White Hat SEO and I don’t have any ideas about the specific no. of pings.
