What is Child Theme?
Basically, Child Theme is the Theme that inherits the functionality and styling of your parent theme which you are using currently on your WordPress site. People use the child theme to modify their theme without editing parent theme’s files.
The child theme is very useful because when we install a theme on our WordPress site, We always customize it and make many changes in it. But the problem arises when theme developers launch an update of that theme. We have to update our theme but if we update theme then we will lose all the customization which we made on our theme.
We create a child theme to save our customization. We can easily customize the theme without touching the parent theme. So whenever we update theme then all customization will be same in the updated version.
Now I hope you fully understood what child theme is? And why you should create it?
