This is very good feeling to come back with another blog post after a long time, it is not a long time for everyone. It is only 3 days I did not publish a blog post. But it is very long for me because I usually publish one post daily.
StayMeOnline was suffering from the errors and those errors were because of one of my mistakes which I have made.
I always learnt from my mistakes and happy to say that the mistake makes me more knowledgeable, more strong and motivates me as well.
The last couple of days was not good for me at all, StayMeOnline was not properly live in those days. And I feel sorry for the inconvenience you have faced those days. But the good news that is StayMeOnline is live and I promise it will live forever.
I learnt many these from the mistakes which I am doing since the first day of blogging, and I want to share this with you to save you from making these mistakes in the future.
It happened When I had installed a plugin without knowing the stats and the reviews, which I usually don’t do. I always take care of the plugin requirements and other stats as well.
But I didn’t do that time, I installed the plugin and activated it. then immediately, My website stopped working. So, I thought it is because of the plugin then I connect my website with the FTP and deleted that plugin but the error was still showing.
I contacted my hosting provider and they helped me in this, It took 3 days to completely resolve that errors. I am very happy with Microhost Supports, they helped me many times.
That time I was thinking that I will lose my blog because I had not taken back up for the blog. it was not acceptable for me because I did hard work on my blog. For a blogger, his blog is everything for him.
I learned many new things from that bad time, and I will make 4 blogging habits to give a long life to my blog. I suggest you that you should do the same.
Take Back Up Regularly
Back up is the very important, I felt its important in those couple of days. I had not any backup for my blog to use if the error will not resolve.
That was the time which makes me know about the importance of taking regular backups. The first thing I did after resolve the errors is taking complete back up of my blog.
There are many plugins which can help you to take backup of your blog.
Here are the names of the plugin which you can download for this task:
If you want to read about the WordPress backups and which files you should take backup of, then you must read below’s post.
You should make a habit of taking your blog’s complete backup on a regular basis. I have set a scheduled backup of the last day of every month.
Supportive Hosting Provider
Support System is one of the important things which everyone should take care of while choosing a hosting provider. I was lucky that I have chosen a supportive hosting provider who always ready to help their customers.
I am also recommending you that if you are planning to purchase hosting for your blog/website then you should take a try of Microhost, It is cheap and also very supportive.
Create A Demo Site
If you have a website or blog on WordPress then maybe you always try different plugin to test which is working well for you. But do you know that doing this can harm your site?
My website was not working in those couple of days because I had installed a plugin which was harmful. That plugin created all those errors and my blog stopped working.
I have created a demo website on the local server using Xampp, I always use that to create tutorials but I forgot to install that plugin on the demo site first.
If you don’t have one then you should create a demo site for yourself right now, you can create it on Xampp. if you don’t know how to create a website on Xampp then below’s post will help you.
Creating a demo site will help you to test a plugin, custom CSS and also for creating tutorials.
Make a habit to install the plugin first on demo site to test before installing on your live website, it will help you to ensure that the plugin will work or not.
Check Plugin Details
There are the couple of things which you should check before installing a plugin on your website.
It is the very important information to check before installing a plugin. This is showing the date when the plugin last updated by the developers. Don’t use the plugin which last updated 1 or more year ago, because it can be hurt your website.
It is showing the total number of the installation which is currently active (Using the plugin).
Requires WordPress Version
The WordPress version requirement by the plugin, you should have equal or latest version for using the plugin. If you have the least version so maybe plugin can hurt your website or not support.
This is another important factor to check, Rating shows the feedback of the users toward the plugin. Users who have already used the plugin can give the stars according to their experience. You can also read the reviews by clicking See all link.
I was very disturbed when I come to know that maybe I will lose my blog, my all work which I have done on my blog and all the traffic as well.
This happened because of my mistakes and I always learn from my mistakes.
